Encoders
- Which encoder should i use?
- DISCLAIMER: Beginning in 2019, the use of the NVENC encoder (specifically on Turing architecture nVidia cards) became a solid and viable option for streaming, so much so that dual pc streaming is much less of a necessity. The battle of x264 vs NVENC still rages on to this day, and there is no right or wrong way, just the way that fits best for your situation. Please consult your local video encoding jedi master for more details.
- For single PC setups, investing in a computer that has both a decent CPU and an NVENC enabled GPU is the best route to go. Offloading the streams encoding onto your GPU helps save CPU resources for the game you’re playing. This is a very detail oriented subject, and to learn more you should do a shit of research.
